This is a handspun thick and thin bobble/coiled chunky art yarn.
Tips and Tricks for using Handspun Coiled Art Yarn:
It’s important to be gentle with this kind of art yarn. Some may have added fibers like silk, and thread that may shed if handled roughly. Also, coiled handspun yarn has a specific amount of twist in them. When handling do not pull too hard or change the direction of their twist as this can unwind them. When cutting coiled handspun yarn, grab two pieces of thin string/thread and wrap each (2 or 3 times) around the top and bottom of the area you want to cut and tie a double knot. Make sure to leave about a 1” gap between the tied strings. Once knotted you can cut the section in between both knots. For added safety I suggest knotting the tail end of the cut yarn ensuring that the fiber and the core are part of this knot. Or, some take the core string of the art yarn and knot it with the string that’s been tied. These are just some ways people have found to keep the integrity of the yarn. Don’t feel intimidated, everyone finds their own way with experience. I personally use an over hand knot in a thinner bit of the yarn and snug it up under a thicker bit if I can. Then I cut off the tail after the knot and you can’t see the core; the yarn looks seamless.
