Handspun Merino & Silk Art Yarn Scarf — Slow Fashion Wearable Art

Wrap yourself in a truly one-of-a-kind piece of slow, sustainable fashion.

Each scarf is crafted from handspun coiled yarn made with luxurious merino wool and tussah silk, then carefully woven into a soft, sculptural textile. Every piece takes ten solid hours of spinning, dyeing, and weaving — a meditative, intentional process that preserves the beauty of natural fibers and the artistry of ancient craft.

No two scarves are ever the same. Each one carries its own textures, colours, movement, and story.

Fiber & Feel

Merino wool provides unmatched softness and warmth, while tussah silk adds strength, subtle shine, and graceful drape. Together they create a fabric that feels both wild and refined — a tactile piece of wearable art inspired by the natural world.

The coils, slubs, and textures in the yarn are intentionally crafted, giving the scarf a sculptural, organic character that becomes even more beautiful with time.

Natural Wear & Fiber Evolution

Because the scarf is made from handspun art yarn, it will evolve gently as you wear it:

  • Wool may softly full and bloom, creating a cohesive, buttery-soft texture
  • Coils may relax slightly, settling into an organic, lived-in sculptural form
  • Silk adds durability, drape, and a soft glow that improves with use

These changes aren’t flaws — they are the natural, beautiful life of real fiber.

Your scarf will become increasingly unique to you as it softens, relaxes, and adapts to your shape and movement.

Think of it as living fiber — always growing more comfortable and character-rich.

Care Instructions

Wool naturally repels dirt and odors, so frequent washing isn’t necessary. To refresh your scarf, simply steam it with a textile steamer or a cleaned food steamer.

If a tassel knot loosens over time, gently retie it, securing the core thread to the fibers.

When a wash is needed:

  • Hand wash in cool to lukewarm water (some colour may bleed slightly in water)
  • Use a gentle wool wash (Eucalan, Soak, or mild baby shampoo)
  • Submerge gently; avoid rubbing or agitation
  • Soak for 15–20 minutes
  • Lift with both hands and squeeze gently — never wring
  • Roll in a towel to remove excess water
  • Lay flat to dry and reshape
  • Do not hang — preserves the structure and coils
  • Remove light pilling by hand (avoid fabric shavers)

These simple steps will keep your scarf feeling fresh, soft, and luminous for years to come.

 Made With Intention

Your scarf is more than an accessory — it’s a piece of handcrafted art created through hours of focused, heart-led work. From dyeing the fibers to spinning the coils to weaving the final fabric, every step is done slowly, thoughtfully, and by hand.

This is fashion that honours tradition, sustainability, and the beauty of natural materials.
